This is a graphite study of a piece of cardboard. The goal was to create an exact replica or as close as possible. It was interesting to figure out how to draw the variety of textures that the objects had and how they interacted with each other and with their shadows. Just adding even the slightest shadow made the picture go from looking flat to popping off the page. The image on the left is my drawing and the image on the right is the reference photo. The drawing was done using only the citing and measuring technique.
